Structural and neotectonic features of the Cordillera Oriental and Santa Bárbara System, Central Andes of NW Argentina
In this presentation I will show the main results obtained during more than 10 years of research on the characterization of Quaternary tectonics and identification of potential seismogenic sources in northwestern Argentina. I will also give an overview of the prospects for future work on paleoseismological analysis of certain structures particularly relevant from the point of view of seismic hazard assessment in densely populated areas.
