Analysis of subsidence and thermal state in a new-real estate domain: the sedimentary prism approach

The aim of this project is to develop a new method to quantify subsidence and thermal history of rifted margins. The approach focus on the characterization of accretion, sedimentation and subsidence rates along a newly studied object, the sedimentary prism. This distal, post-rift deposit allows to estimate the thermal state and therefore subsidence at the onset of seafloor spreading. Feasibility study was made during my master thesis in the Liberia/Sierra-Leone margin in order to extend this method to other examples.
