Insights from early postseismic deformation analyses using subdaily GNSS
Abstract: Because of its sampling interval, daily GNSS coordinate time series lack the earliest stage of postseismic deformation. Subdaily GNSS coordinate time series have been employed to access this missing deformation. In this seminar, based on my own and other people’s works, I am going to cover potential insights from early postseismic deformation analysis to deepen our understanding of fault slip processes as well as practical challenges to achieve them. This will include three topics: (1) early (large) aftershocks and afterslip, (2) More accurate description of slip budget, and (3) Transition stage connecting interseismic and postseismic slip.
